What customers say?

“ The entrance to the restaurant is a little hard to find. Setsugekka Nagara (beef-focused) is on the second floor, while Tonkatsu Tanakaya is on the basement floor. The entrance is on the back street, not the main street, so it's a little confusing. I recommend the yakiniku lunch. With a coupon from Hot Pepper or similar, you can enjoy the following for just under ¥1,800 (just over ¥2,000 without one): ●Two Wagyu Nigiri ●Salad ●Namul, Kimchi ●Charcoal-grilled (Wagyu, pork, chicken, vegetables, and mushrooms) ●Choose your rice (this month's menu: curry, beef tail soup, or Japanese cold noodles) ●Almond tofu ●Coffee (If you don't like coffee, you can choose orange or grapefruit juice) A charcoal grill is placed in front of you, and you can grill your own. The Wagyu beef is delicious, but the pork and chicken are also carefully selected and delicious. The side dishes, including salads, namul, and kimchi, were also carefully prepared and delicious. By the way, the rice portion sizes are slightly larger than a regular bowl, but not very generous. The oxtail soup was like a refined bowl of rice with tea, and the topping was simple, with just a small piece of oxtail on top, but it was very delicious. The Japanese cold noodles were bibim noodles in a Japanese broth, topped with pickled plum and grated kelp, and had a refined flavor that was easy to eat. The almond tofu dessert and coffee were similar to those at Tonkatsu Tanakaya. The coffee was served in a small cup. The hot tea was also delicious. Maybe it was Chinese tea? It had a nice aroma. The counter seats allowed you to watch the chefs slicing the meat, but with only one sofa for two people, it felt a little cramped for charcoal grilling with multiple people. A window seat would be more comfortable. There were many reservations even on weekdays, so it seems like a popular restaurant. Reservations are recommended. ”

“ This renowned Gifu restaurant serves aged brand-name beef carefully selected by an expert with 70 years of experience in the butchering industry. Up the stairs, you'll find a luxurious space lined with private rooms and counter sofas, accented by the color black. Its calm atmosphere and luxurious design make it perfect for dates and anniversaries. The meat is grilled over a charcoal grill. This time, I ordered something eye-catching from the à la carte menu. ◎Wagyu Black Beef Tongue (Limited Quantity) The subtle shades of pink are simply beautiful. Thick, yet tender and juicy. The rich flavor and umami of the clear tongue fill your mouth, making you want to sear it. ◎Chateaubriand The meat is so tender that it melts in your mouth the moment you bite. You can really taste the umami of the lean meat itself. ◎Famous Sirloin Yakisuki A large yakisuki with a fine marbling. The sweet and spicy sauce, which is given a fragrant savory flavor by grilling, combines with the mellow egg yolk, the sweetness of the meat, and the richness of the fat for an incredibly luxurious taste. ◎Wagyu Skirt Steak (Limited Quantity) Tender yet with just the right amount of bite, it's delicious. ◎Premium Loin The marbled fat is smooth and oozes out the moment you bite into it. You can enjoy the sweetness of the marbled meat and the umami of the lean meat all at once. ◎Seared Sirloin Yukhoe with Mangetsuku Rich Egg You'll be mesmerized by the sight of the egg yolk being cracked and mixed together. The melt-in-your-mouth texture matches the rich flavor of the egg yolk perfectly. The walnuts add a nice accent. ◎Famous Sudachi Reimen (Half) A dish with a mild acidity and the refreshing aroma of sudachi, making it a light and refreshing dish to enjoy between meals. It's a great final dish, but also a great way to enjoy it in between meals. ◎Setsugekka Seasonal Fruit Parfait I never thought I'd find such a luxurious dessert at a yakiniku restaurant. The generous serving of fruit left me feeling happy until the very end of the meal. The meat was delicious, needless to say, but what was particularly impressive was the pleasant aftertaste. I tried a variety of cuts, including those with marbling, but there was no heavy, sticky feeling of fat in my mouth or stomach. It's precisely because the meat is so high-quality that I feel so comfortable not only during the meal but also afterward. The sauce also complemented the meat's flavor. It was a luxurious moment, relaxing and enjoying meat in a private space. I once again realized why this restaurant continues to be beloved in an area packed with famous restaurants. ”

“ This time, we went to this restaurant for a year-end lunch with some close friends. We reserved the Setsugekka special course. Because it was a course, each dish was served one by one, allowing us to enjoy the food while chatting leisurely. It was definitely a good choice. ◎ All of the meat was delicious. We also had meat with a sweet and spicy sauce similar to sukiyaki. I grilled it and ate it with yolk, and the marbling was delicious. ◎ We were given a choice of cold noodles, stone-grilled bibimbap, or curry, but bibimbap is only available for groups of two or more. My parents and I ordered bibimbap and cold noodles. The cold noodles were highly rated. ◎ As expected, the grated kelp added a nice soft vinegar flavor. ◎ The soup was absolutely delicious. All three of us tried a sample. The staff were always smiling and seemed to work efficiently and not keep customers waiting. I was impressed by how hard they all worked. For our end-of-year party with friends, we splurged a little and chose the Setsugekka Nagare Sun course, which was a great decision!! Thank you very much! ”

“ Saturday, May 5, 2024. We visited for the first time as a group of two. We visited right after they opened, without a reservation. They were on the phone from the moment we arrived, and it was a busy restaurant. We were lucky to find a few people waiting and the parking lot full when we left. We ordered the Yakiniku Lunch Special for about ¥2,000. ◆ Kimchi, Homemade Namul ◆ Seasonal Vegetable Salad ◆ Seared Wagyu Beef Nigiri Sushi ◆ 5 Charcoal-Grilled Dishes - Tongue, Kalbi, Lean Meat, Kurobuta Pork, and Local Chicken ◆ Seasonal Grilled Vegetables ◆ Choice of Meal (Please choose one from the list below.) ~ Setsugekka Curry / Japanese Cold Noodles / Tailkukbap ~ ◆ Today's Dolce ◆ After-Meal Coffee We ordered taekukbap. Even though it's charcoal-grilled, the price was a great deal. With a restaurant coupon, it seemed even cheaper, but it was still cheap even without it. The portions are small, so I think it's easy for women to eat. I sensed it's popular with locals. It's also next to a police station, so it's safe and the view of Mt. Kinka is great. Alcohol was also reasonably priced. My favorite yakiniku restaurant stopped serving lunch, so this was my first time here, and I'd love to come alone too. I was lucky in the end. ”

“ The first restaurant in the Setsugekka group I visited was Western Food Tsubaki. I was very satisfied with not only the food, but also the atmosphere and service. No matter which restaurant in the Setsugekka group I visit, I can truly enjoy my meal. This time I visited Setsugekka Nagara. As you enter the restaurant up the outside stairs, you'll find a wonderful space. The first thing that caught my eye was a counter sofa seat for two! I'd love to have a dinner date here. The counter seats, where you can dine while listening to the staff's explanation, are perhaps the best seats! There were also tables and private rooms available. Dinner Courses: ・Snow 5,000 yen ・Moon 8,000 yen ・Flower 10,000 yen This time, I went with the middle "Moon" course ︎Homemade Kimchi ︎Namul Platter ︎Seasonal Vegetable Salad ︎Omi Beef Tataki with Homemade Ponzu Sauce ︎Thinly Sliced Premium Salted Tongue ︎Chateaubriand (Yamagata Beef) ︎Sirloin Yaki Sukiyaki (Yamagata Beef) ︎Sudachi Cold Noodles ︎Grilled Vegetable Platter ︎Misuji & Rump (Yamagata Beef) ︎Wagyu Beef Offal Platter (Tetchan, Akasen, Liver) ︎Setsugekka Curry ︎Pudding & Almond Tofu (Dessert) The kimchi, namul, and salad dressing were all delicious and perfectly matched After filling up on vegetables, the appetizer was Omi Beef Tataki. The homemade ponzu sauce had a mellow and refreshing flavor. The meat was moist, tender, and full of flavor! The grilled dish of the day was mainly Yamagata beef. This restaurant offers delicious meat, carefully selecting different cuts and regions depending on the season. Every piece of meat was beautifully presented! The first piece of yakisuki was grilled by the staff. All the meat was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! My favorite innards were so beautifully presented that I was super excited. It was so delicious I wanted seconds. Their specialty, sudachi hiyashi noodles, which were served midway through the meal, were made with acorn noodles that had a nice texture! The flavor was refreshing and the portion was just right. I love the Setsugekka curry and the pudding for dessert, and I always look forward to them. The curry was meaty and packed with a variety of flavors! And yet it wasn't heavy and was truly delicious. The classic firm pudding was also delicious! I've been a fan of these two dishes since trying them at Western Food Tsubaki. This time I indulged in the dinner course, but they also have lunch courses ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 yen. This course seemed very satisfying, so I'd like to try lunch next time. Even though the price may be different, the "comfortable service" here remains the same, so it might be a good idea to start with lunch. ”

“ I was really looking forward to my trip to Gifu. I went to Setsugekka Nagara. A renowned restaurant where you can enjoy high-quality brand-name beef. It was a restaurant I had wanted to go to, but it was my first time, so I was excited. The space was stylish and fashionable. This restaurant's menu is perfect for lunch and dinner. ● Charcoal-Grilled Wagyu Beef Course (Tsuki Course) ¥8,800 ・Homemade Kimchi & Namul Platter ・Seasonal Vegetable Salad ・Omi Beef Tataki ・Premium Salted Tongue ・Branded Beef Fillet ・Seasonal Grilled Vegetables ・Selected Branded Beef Cuts ・Sudachi Cold Noodles ・Branded Beef Yaki Sukiyaki (Sirloin & Marin) ・Hormone Platter (Tetchan, Red Senmai, Liver) ・Final Meal (Stone-Grilled Bibimbap / Setsugekka Curry / Yukhoejang Soup and Rice) ・Dolce All the meat was beautiful. The dishes were also beautiful, and it was fun to look at them. This time, some cuts were from Saga Prefecture, but the main focus was Yamagata beef. My grandma is from Yamagata, so I feel a natural affinity to it. The marbled beef tongue was tender, and the flavor spread throughout my mouth. I was already impressed from the very beginning. The sashimi and kainomi were also melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Then came the sudachi hiyashi noodles. I had heard that Setsugekka's was exceptionally delicious, and tasting it confirmed my point. The frozen dashi broth was refreshing. Grilled sukiyaki (grilled sukiyaki) wrapped in green onions was lightly seared and wrapped around green onions. When mixed with the full-moon egg yolk, it combined with the fatty meat for a rich flavor. All the offal was plump and juicy. The liver had no strong odor or peculiar taste, making it easy to eat. For the rice dishes, we went for bibimbap. The savory aroma of charred meat from the hot stone oven complemented the generous amount of toppings. Setsugekka's special curry was also incredibly delicious Even though it's a yakiniku restaurant, this was a very popular menu item. The dessert at the end was a slightly firm pudding with a nostalgic almond tofu. It was delicious from start to finish. It was a truly happy time Thank you for the meal ”

“ This time, I got a special lunch deal at a discount using a coupon! The salad was fresh, the meat was delicious, and the kimchi was amazing. Finally, I was served curry, dessert, and even coffee I was super full and satisfied (*≧∇≦)ノ If I could make one request, it would be that empty plates are collected too frequently. I wish they would only do it when bringing out the next dish. ”

“ This time I had the Moon course for lunch. The tongue was average, but the meal was delicious overall. The fillet in particular had a great aroma and a rich flavor, and was absolutely delicious. ”
